Damascus Titanium Mokume-Ti Hawaiian Koa Ring

This material This material is made much like Damascus steel - layers of different grades of Ti are folded together & etched. Not with acid like steel & NOT anodized like other colored Ti or aluminum.

With extreme heat. This causes the titanium to form colored oxidized layers at different rates.

This coloration is more durable than anodized, but is expected to scratch & wear at the same rate as any other titanium ring. This is the absolute highest grade Koa you will see.

The wood for these rings have been selected for its old-grown, chatoyant figure. Koa is known for its curl, & this is a CURLY piece.

It is very difficult to capture in pictures. I was doing some research so that I could describe the effect.

This property can also be used to describe some of the more dramatic pieces of curly, tigerstripe & fiddleback Koa.

Recommended width is calculated in this way: Size 5 is 5mm wide. Width increases.

5mm per size above that. So: Size 5- 5mm size 6 - 5.

5mm Size 7- 6mm size 8 - 6. 5mm Size 9- 7mm etc.
