This wood art required a lot of workmanship since it was hand-carved, first from a solid chunk of wood to have the shape of a Norwegian Elkhound Dog, then the inside of the wood to have space for keeping small things like jewelries.

Another piece of wood was carved to make the lid for the box which has a part coming up, used to hold & pull the lid out. The most interesting part is the cover which was carved from 29 different pieces of wood with different thickness & glued together on a wood base to form a Norwegian Elkhound Dog.

An important part is a piece of wood which was carved in bone-shape to make the key for this puzzle box, the length of the key is almost the thickness of the puzzle box. When you first look at this Norwegian Elkhound Dog item, it's hard to tell that's a box ! in order to open the box, you need to find the key which usually on the edge of the item.

Slide the key up; slide the cover to left or right; open the lidand there's your hidden things. So, this puzzle box is used as a decorative item & also can be used to hide small things like valuable jewelries or keysYou'll find it's a very interesting item All hand-carved using different kinds of wood to bring different colors for the piece.

So, the colors of wood here are natural colors of wood. For this feature, it's almost like one-of-a-kind because next time if we make the same design again, it won't look exactly the same as the wood grain will change slightly.
